Curaçao day 3: Salina Jan Kok, Sint-Willibrordus-church, Santa-Martha, Mareni beach, Jan Thiel beach, Restaurant Zanzibar

Today we went to pickup the rental car at AVIS (N12.07488024, W68.8782429). We can go there on foot, on the way there I took a quick picture of the resort:

The pickup at AVIS was a bit different than other AVIS pickup points. It was very small there, only 1 person was there, was more a sort of office, but it went pretty quick. We got a kia picanto, no free upgrade this time. It was also a very basic edition. Not even an air bag…

After we took the car we first went back to our room to pick up some things. Then we went to Salina Jan Kok (N12.213585 W69.0539817) because we wanted to see the flamingos. However, no flamingos in sight:

We saw in the distance a church, so we went there as maybe it is nice one to look at (N12.21649, W69.065323), next to the church you can see our rental car:

The church itself was ok-ish, we could not look in site. There was also a cemetery next to the church, that was not really nice.

After that we ent to Mereni beach. On the way there we stopped at a viewpoint(N12.270283 W69.124617):

The Mareni beach (N12.2673817 W69.1277983) is actaully really nice. Almost nobody there, so ideal if you do not like a crowd.

We did not go snorkling there, so no idea if it any good at this location.

After viewing this we started driving back. We stopped at another church (N12.276405 W69.11096) Parokia di San Antonio de Padua. Not very special…

Little bit down the road we stopped at Toko Williwood to get something to drink (N12.215007 W69.058617)

We did not see anything else interesting anymore. At night we ate at restaurant Zanzibar (N12.0757217 W68.8796217) on the Jan Thiel beach
The food was good there, service was very quick (a bit too quick).

Spotted some “wild life”:

Also made a photo of the setting sun:
